Hinteres Städtle, part of the historic town centre of Schiltach.
Hinteres Städtle
Schiltach's old main street, Schenkenzeller Straße, runs through the old town centre. Typical half-timbered farmhouses from the 16th and 17th centuries characterise the picture. They once belonged to artisan families who ran a small farm and livestock business to support themselves. The "Hintere Stadttor" (rear town gate) once stood next to the "Traube" inn.
