The Peace Route is a 48 km long demanding circular course consistently marked with the symbol of the peace dove. Due to the many climbs, it requires a certain level of fitness. This varied route offers cyclists a high level of sport and fun. The cultural demands are also met here – "Schwarze Tafel" with information boards about German-French history, "Area 1" with information about the former special weapons depot of the Cold War, the Biosphere House with its treetop path, to name just a few. The elegant half-timbered villages on both the German and French sides invite you to linger and rest.
UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate interaction in nature
Always behave considerately, friendly, and thoughtfully towards all those you meet on the way.
Take care of nature, do not destroy plants, and always stay on the paths.
Think of a rubbish bag for the way and take your waste back home.
Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals thank you.
For your own safety, observe all path closures. Also on weekends.
Only park in designated parking lots. Leave space for emergency routes and agricultural machinery.
Give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.

Safety information
Our bike routes often run over paths where we are guests with our bikes and share them with others. Therefore, we ask for considerate and friendly interaction at all times. Farmers and foresters use the farm roads through fields and forests for their daily work (also on weekends) and always have the right of way. Due to work operations and/or weather conditions, these paths may sometimes be more heavily soiled. Special caution is also advised when riding on the (usually quiet and little-used) roads in and around the Alsatian and Palatine villages.Tips and suggestions

Roadbook
From the station in Bundenthal, the bike route leads over an asphalt bike path past the Falkenmühle to the edge of the village. Here, turn right onto the bike path, uphill to the K46 intersection, then descend into the picturesque village of Nothweiler. Via Lembacher Straße and then the bike path, the route first goes slightly uphill and then downhill to Petit Wingen and then into the charming Alsatian Wingen.
The route continues past colorful meadows and fields to the small town of Lembach/F. From here, it continues toward the campsite with the Fleckensteiner-Weiher, which invites you to swim. A short section of the route runs along the D925 until it turns left onto the newly created trail, which leads along an idyllic small forest towards Niedersteinbach/F, with its numerous half-timbered houses. Via road D3, we reach Obersteinbach/F.
At the end of the village, we turn right onto the bike path to the Maison Forestiére de Lutzelhardt. The paved path then leads over the German-French border to the "Schwarze Tafel" with explanations about it and the eventful history of the two nations. On an asphalt bike path, the route now runs through the former US depot past "Area 1", a historic relic from the Cold War. An informative circular route provides numerous details about this, then it continues until reaching Fischbach-Petersbächel.
Via Vogesenstraße and past the Unterpetersbächlerhof, the route leads to the largest town in the Sauer valley, "Fischbach". The Peace Route then continues over the striking wooden bridge in the nature reserve "Königsbruch" until you cross the Rumbacher Höhe slightly uphill on a gravel bike path. From here, you roll leisurely in the direction of Rumbach. Arriving in the idyllic half-timbered village of Rumbach, it goes through the senior park via the bike path back to Bundenthal, the starting point.
