We welcome everyone who is looking for relaxation, peace in nature, and education for soul and spirit. The atmosphere of our house is consciously shaped by the Christian spirit.
The Location:
The Heilsbach is located in the Wasgau, which is part of the Nature Park Palatinate Forest/Northern Vosges. In close proximity to the French border, it belongs to the state-recognized resort of Schönau/Pfalz.
The House:
Our house is situated in a magnificent park area of 75,000m². All buildings are accessible for people with disabilities and equipped with elevators or wheelchair ramps.
The Rooms:
The deliberately simply furnished rooms are equipped with shower/WC and telephone. All rooms offer a splendid view over our park grounds and the adjoining forest. For families, we also provide additional beds and baby cots.
Some of the rooms are fully accessible for people with disabilities and equipped with corresponding wet cells.
The Common Rooms:
For cozy gatherings in the evening, we offer our guests suitable rooms. Whether it's a club room, tea room, or fireplace room – here you can enjoy the end of the day in a pleasant atmosphere.
The Meditation Room:
For your relaxation, contemplation, or simply to enjoy the silence, our meditation room is available to you. We also provide prayer stools and blankets for you there.
The Chapel:
Regular services are held in our house chapel, to which you are warmly invited. As part of your own events, you can also celebrate your own services or organize prayer times here by arrangement.
Additionally, the chapel, which is dedicated to St. Walburga, is also a place of silence and contemplation. Artistic design by Sr. Klara Winkler, OSF, provides inspiration for this. Our Mirjam window, crafted after the famous depiction of Mirjam by Sieger Köder, offers a special invitation for contemplation.
The Conference Rooms:
Our house has several large and small conference rooms, which you can arrange according to your wishes with chairs and tables. For your events, a comprehensive range of conference technology is available, including flipcharts, overhead projectors, projectors, and more.
The Campsite:
You can also camp with us! The campsite features a large fire pit and a spacious shelter with an open fireplace. Here you can store your materials or warm up during cooler temperatures.
The Sports Facilities:
On our premises, there is a grass football pitch (Type C), a cinder track and long jump facility, a youth football pitch (hard court), and a synthetic surface for various sports (basketball, tennis, etc.).
The Multipurpose Hall:
Equipped with the latest technology and a gallery, our divisible multipurpose hall (21x45m) is well-suited for sports, festivities, and games. Here you can engage in all imaginable indoor sports or hold large events with up to 600 persons. Changing rooms, showers, and toilets are located in the basement of the hall.
The Kneipp Facility:
From spring to autumn, you are welcome to promote your health and use our outdoor Kneipp facility. This actively supports your well-being and strengthens your immune system.
The Swimming Pool:
As a special attraction, we offer you the free use of our in-house outdoor pool. In our 20x11m pool, you can swim leisurely and do something for your fitness.
The Sauna:
The sauna area includes a Finnish sauna, a relaxation room with loungers, a balcony, a spacious room with footbaths, shower, WC, and changing room with lockable compartments.
The Playground:
With a nest swing, slide, wooden houses, and a huge climbing structure, the playground is a draw for our young guests. A special attraction is our "Sky-Surf," which allows even the big ones to whirl through the air.
The Library:
In our extensive house library, every reader will find something. In addition to a focus on religion, spirituality, and faith, there are many non-fiction books, novels, and children's books on various topics. As a Catholic public library, we are supported by the specialized department of the Diocese of Speyer.
The Catering:
Our kitchen offers freshly prepared meals, lovingly refined with herbs from our garden. At breakfast, our guests enjoy a rich buffet with fresh rolls, freshly prepared muesli, juices, and more. Dinner is also offered in buffet form, where everyone can put together something delicious according to their taste. Lunch consists of a three-course menu. We are happy to accommodate your requests and also serve vegetarian or dietary meals upon request. We also gladly prepare small snacks like coffee and cake or a colorful fruit basket for an extra charge.
In our two dining halls, up to one hundred people can enjoy their meals with a view over the park grounds.
For special occasions and celebrations (birthdays, weddings, company parties, etc.), we are also happy to create large buffets and menus according to your wishes.
The Pickup Service:
As a special service, we offer a pickup service. We can pick you up with your luggage not only from the train station but also from your home upon request – and at a cheaper rate than traveling by train (2nd class). Of course, this offer also applies to your return trip.
The Excursion Service:
Would you like to take a trip to the nearby Alsace or travel part of your hiking route? No problem – you can rent our minibus with a driver for this.
The Excursion Destinations:
Directly at the house, the cycling and hiking trails of the Sauerbach Valley begin, where you can discover various castles and rocks of the Wasgau. Many routes are also specifically designated for Nordic walking.
In the immediate neighborhood, the Biosphere House in Fischbach features Germany's first treetop path. Or simply cross the border and visit the beautiful castle complex of Fleckenstein and the "Petit Fleckenstein".
