Not all churches are open continuously!
Here you can find an overview of open Protestant churches in Ortenau.

Roadbook
Take the Black Forest Railway to Hausach station.
Opposite is the Protestant church.
Follow the Kinzig river to the foot-/bike bridge at Kirnbach. From here, steadily uphill until the Protestant church in Kirnbach appears on the right.
Then continue uphill, leaving the district road outside the village to the right and follow the street "Grafenloch." (Don't be ashamed to push your bike!)
At the summit, go straight on along "Simonshansehofweg" until you reach the district road again, which here is called Rotsal. Follow the road to the right, then after about 300 meters turn left to Moosenmättle.
Enjoy the view here before continuing right through the forest towards Sulzbach. Once the forest ends, turn left into the hamlet "Rotwasser" and after a few meters turn right on the street "Doldenhof" until the Catholic church, which towers like a balcony above the valley.
Continue downhill to the district "Bruckhof." Before the bridge, go straight ahead through a left curve and then up the hill again. After a right turn, continue to the forest edge and then left along the edge of the forest. At a fork with a monument, there is a beautiful view over to Schramberg. We take the path to the right and can orient ourselves by the planet path, which leads to Fohrenbühl. Two inns invite you to refresh yourself.
On the opposite side of the road is the access to the cross-country ski trails. Pass this and go about 5 km straight south. Here we reach Oberreichenbach. We follow the valley road 200 meters to the right, then take a path branching left, which we follow until we have crossed a small forest. Here, follow the little road to the left until after 200 meters a paved road leads downhill to the right. After 800 meters, keep right and then continue downhill, almost 7 km, to Hornberg — and don’t forget to brake. Caution: motor vehicles also use this road!
In Hornberg, we are now on Reichenbacherstraße. Less than half a kilometer toward the town, on the right is the Catholic church.
The Protestant church is located shortly after the railway underpass on the right side.
The next destination is Gutach. For this, we take the "Hohenweg" to the "Markgrafenwiese." At the supermarket, turn right onto the bike path that follows the Gutach. Unfortunately, this bike path does not run consistently next to the federal road, so on some sections the B33 must be followed to Gutach. Before the "Rössle," turn right and then immediately left onto "Sonnenberg" street. At its end, unfortunately along the B33 again, and in Gutach over Kirchstraße to the Peterskirche.
Follow "Ramsbachweg" to a foot-/bike bridge crossing the Gutach to the left. At the federal road, cross it and continue on the left side up to shortly before the railway crossing, where a bike path leads left along the railway line to Hausach. Pass the Vogtsbauernhöfe, then turn left into Hirschgasse, then turn right twice and via Gutacher- and Eisenbahnstraße back to the station.
