The circular route provides a good overview of the changes that the Goitzsche cultural landscape has undergone in recent decades and which have made the Goitzsche the largest land art project in the world by area.
At the northwestern part of the route are the Bitterfeld city harbor, the Bitterfeld waterfront, the Villa at Bernsteinsee, and the Pegelturm with jetty. There are many opportunities to relax here.
To the south, you can experience the natural Goitzsche forest. Additionally, there are two nice viewpoints over the landscape at Sonnentalblick and Feldherrnhügel.
Besides the Goitzschesee circular route, there is also the "Supplementary Route." It is about 16 km long and runs through the area of the "small lakes" of the Goitzsche. Along the way, you pass Holzweißiger Ost-See, Ludwigsee, Neuhauser See, and Paupitzscher See.
On side paths, you can reach Pomona’s Garden and the Guardians of the Goitzsche.
Ground surface: asphalt or concrete slabs, partly also natural
