Nach der Jahrhundertflut im Jahre 2002 haben sich großflächige Flachwasserbereiche, quellige Austritte, ein kleines Fließgewässer und anmoorige Bereiche auf dem Hochplateau und den Abbruchkanten gebildet. Im Gegensatz dazu liegen nebandran artenarme, schütteren Silbergrasfluren und Rohbodenbereiche. So bietet das Gebiet Lebensraum für Tiere die in feuchten leben und für Tiere die in trockenen Terrain ihr zu Hause finden.
