The bike route starts at Deidesheim train station. Opposite is Prinz-Rupprecht-Straße. Ride into this street. Immediately on the right (Prinz-Rupprecht-Straße 8) is the filming location "Winzerverein Deidesheim". It is open daily until 6:00 pm. Follow the street until it joins Weinstraße. Turn left here and follow the course of Weinstraße. At Weinstraße 18 there is a filming location at the Reichsrat von Buhl winery. Continue along Weinstraße until house number 54 (filming location Jul.Ferd. Kimich winery). Exterior shots of the front steps were made here. Continue along Weinstraße. After the town sign is the villa of the Motzenbäcker winery, which was also a filming location for interior shots.
Continue on the Deutsche Weinstraße bike path. This passes through the wine village of Königsbach and goes through the wine villages of Gimmeldingen and Haardt. From here it goes to Neustadt/Wstr. The bike path crosses Maximilianstraße (B38). At this point we leave the Deutsche Weinstraße bike path and walk into the pedestrian zone along the main street. This passes the collegiate church, which directly borders the Neustadt marketplace, which with its fountain and weekly market also served as a filming location. With its Mediterranean flair and diverse adjacent restaurants, it is ideal for a break. Back from the marketplace, turn left into Kellereistraße and follow it until it reaches Friedrichstraße. Exactly at the corner is Café Fridericus (Friedrichstraße 29), which was also a filming location. Follow Friedrichstraße south to the end, turn left and use the traffic light to cross the street towards the Neustadt/Wstr. main station (also a filming location). Facing the station building, continue a short distance to the right along Bahnhofstraße. Turn left onto Landauer Straße and then immediately again left onto Schillerstraße. Now we are back on the Deutsche Weinstraße bike path.
Continue on the Deutsche Weinstraße bike path to Hambach. Passing Weinstraße 110, home of the Hambacher Schloss Kellerei wine cooperative, whose vault cellar also served as a filming location. Those who wish can ride up to the Hambach Castle, with breathtaking views, also a filming location. Turning into Schlosstraße you reach the filming location of the family winery, which is actually the Schäffer winery (Schloßstraße 110). Other filming locations: Georg Naegele winery (Schlossstraße 27-29) and Hambach town hall square (Weinstraße 6a). We go back a little and turn left into Am Kirschgarten street and are back on the Deutsche Weinstraße bike path. This leads us further to Diedesfeld. At the southern town exit is the Isler vinotheque (Weinstraße 622), which was a filming location for exterior and interior shots.
Continue on the panoramic route of the Deutsche Weinstraße bike path to the wine village of Sankt Martin, which lies directly on the Palatinate Forest. Filming took place at the Sandwiesenweiher in the St. Martiner valley and in the village of Sankt Martin itself. The backdrop was the Tanzstraße in the town center, which has been listed as a historic monument since the 1980s. Continue on the panoramic route towards Maikammer through the vineyards along the Kropsbach. Here we meet again the main route of the Deutsche Weinstraße bike path. Follow this towards Edenkoben. Ride through the town to Rhodt unter Rietburg. King Ludwig I and his wife once strolled through this village. Be sure to take time to look at the historic courtyard gates in Theresienstraße.
You can take the panoramic route to Weyher through the vineyards and enjoy the magnificent view, then continue to Hainfeld. Alternatively, you can cycle directly from Rhodt unter Rietburg to Hainfeld.
Here we join the bike path "From the Rhine to the Wine". This takes us through Edesheim, Kleinfischlingen, Freimersheim, towards Böbingen. Attention: Before Böbingen we encounter the Kraut- und Rüben bike path. We now continue along it to Altdorf, Duttweiler, Lachen-Speyerdorf, passing Haßloch. Here the "Reitanlage Pfalzmühle" served as filming location. Continuing through Meckenheim to Niederkirchen. Attention: Before the town entrance we leave the Kraut- und Rüben bike path and follow the signs to Deidesheim and return to our starting point in Deidesheim.
