“Down (Palatine: “Unne”), in the village center of Hambach, the Schäffers began making wine as early as 1843. At that time, the estate was still a classic mixed farm with arable land and livestock, but over the centuries, wine has become our clear focus. Today, I proudly use the impressive sandstone vault on the wine road "unne" for the aging of cask wines.

Right at the top (Palatine: “Owwe”) in Hambach, somewhat hidden and dreamy right below the historic Hambach Castle, lies the former farmyard of the Archdiocese of Speyer with its enchanting garden. In this place with a long history dating back to the 16th century, you will find not only the wine shop; you can also host your very own event on the premises. Whether it’s a corporate event, seminar, birthday party, or wedding, we look forward to implementing your ideas together with you. At the same time, we would also be delighted to welcome you to one of our own events.

Hambach is high up - this benefits my wines and me. The slightly cooler locations at the edge of the Haardt at around 200 meters elevation ensure that the grapes can ripen longer on the vine, reaching their full maturity at a moderate alcohol content. The Schlossberg blocks rainfall, provides shade, and offers a wonderful, far-reaching view into the valley.

In addition to the typical Buntsandstein soils of the Palatinate, I also manage clay and loam-rich locations. The mineral character of individual sites allows conclusions to be drawn about other soil types hidden deeper down. Knowledge of these special features has been passed down through the family for seven generations.”
