As an east-west connection, the cycle route links the Orla region with the Elster valley. It offers connections to the Elster, Orla, and Saale cycle routes, underlining its importance as a key cycling route in eastern Thuringia. Historically significant sites such as the Osterburg in Weida, the ancestral seat of the Vogts, and the Mildenfurth Monastery culturally enrich the route. Between Wiebelsdorf and Weida, the route runs together with the Luther Trail to the "Lutherblick" viewpoint. A particularly worthwhile detour leads to the Weida reservoir, part of the "Zeulenroda Sea," where impressive nature combines with refreshing relaxation. Train connections in Triptis, Weida, and Wünschendorf allow flexible tour planning. The Auma-Weida cycle route is ideal for those who want to combine nature, culture, and cycling in an enjoyable way.

"Tränksmühle"Roadbook
We start our bike tour in the Orla spring area. From here, we ride a few meters north, turn right and head to Tischendorf. After passing through Tischendorf, we turn right and go to Wiebelsdorf, where we take the branching main road to the right. After a few meters on the main road, we turn left and pass the inn "Tränksmühle." We follow the path along the fields and ride past the "Lutherblick" viewpoint until we reach a T-junction where we turn left, follow the path for a short distance, and then cross the forest on the right side until we reach Kirchsteig.
After a few meters on Kirchsteig, we turn left and ride through the forest until we reach the country road that leads us to
Gräfenbrück. After crossing Gräfenbrück directly, we turn left and follow the cycle path until we reach Aumaer Straße. Passing the Osterburg, we now follow Wallstraße, turn right onto Pfarrstraße, and after a few meters turn left onto Petersberg before turning left again onto L2331.
