Popular alpine climbing route on grippy structures with the special Kaiser flair
The route leads along the southeast edge to the Christaturm (2170 m) and is one of the classics in the Kaiser, which should not be missing in the route book.
Protection: Bolted ring anchors at belay stations, drilled or normal pitons in difficult sections in between, nothing in easy sections; therefore mobile protection is recommended for wide distances.

Ascend to Ellmauer Tor, keeping left uphill on a steep ascent. Cross a steep scree slope (snowfield!) to the start (not marked, refer to topo) on the southeast edge. Climb 40 meters up and in one variant left (IV) to the belay, traverse (III) right back to the original route. Over terraced terrain along the edge to the foot of a compact wall. Two modern pitches (VI+, V) lead to the ridge break. Beyond a notch, the short crux section (VI+) goes up, then continue past rock needles along the ridge to the summit. Abseil 30 meters westward into a notch. Following red markings, climb up onto a ledge and follow it left to the abseil ramp (I). Abseil four times – beware of falling rocks! Return along the approach path to the hut.
