Dreamlike alpine panorama in white winter dress

The Bavarian mountains have always been a place of longing for outdoor enthusiasts. In summer, people make a pilgrimage to the southern region of Germany to go hiking.

Get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, away from the hustle and bustle of the city and into the unspoilt nature of the Alps.

Also in winter, Bavaria is predestined for this.

Ski Tour in the Allgäu: From Steibis to the Eineguntkopf
Video: Outdooractive – 3D Flüge

Ski touring combines winter sports with the peace and solitude you find deep in the mountains.

With every step you take, you get closer to the summit and physically exert yourself in the process.

The descent through soft powder snow is pure pleasure and gives you a feeling of freedom and brings you new strength and energy.

The beauty of the ski touring region of Bavaria is the variety. Sometimes there are easy day tours or the climbs are short and crisp. Depending on the length of the tour, you have the option of stopping off in a hut and fortifying yourself.

Enjoy the fabulous winter panorama and climb the peaks of the Alps with your skis.

How about a ski tour here, for example?

  • Sonnenkopf in Oberallgäu
  • Hausberg near Garmisch-Partenkirchen
  • Rotwand – grater at Spitzingsee
  • Hochkönig near Berchtesgaden
  • Aberg in the Chiemgau

The Bavarian Pre-Alps - Ski Touring Area for Beginners and Advanced Skiers

To experience beautiful ski tours, you don't have to go all the way to the south. Fresh powder snow and open mountain slopes can already be found in the Bavarian Pre-Alps.

Popular are tours to the Wank near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Ro&szligstein and Buchstein and around the Spitzingsee, for example to the Rotwand.

The ski tours are partly on pistes and vary in difficulty from easy to difficult.

If you are skiing in a ski area, pay special attention to skiers and choose an off-piste route for your ascent or start outside the piste operating hours. In principle, ski touring on pistes is not forbidden, but in some sections it is a question of your safety. The alpine skiers can sometimes be fast and to avoid collisions, you should choose a quieter route if necessary.

Grüße in's Allgäu! Jochen Brune
