Above the Weitalm, the route continues through larch terrain, offering magnificent views of the Ammergau Alps.
Since a wildlife protection area lies to the left of the route, you must strictly follow the signs of the DAV project "Natürlich auf Tour", which is anyway the most sensible approach when ascending.

Safety information
Above the Weitalm, in case of uncertain avalanche conditions, you must always consistently follow the ridge line and under no circumstances ascend or descend the steep summit slope to the left of it.Roadbook
From the car park, you first follow (carrying your skis) the two switchbacks of the road towards Plansee. Then you turn right (usually having to climb a short but steep snow slope in high snow conditions) and initially ski flat parallel to the Fischbach to the northwest. This general direction is maintained throughout the route.
In the not very dense forest (and therefore good to ski through on the descent), it soon becomes somewhat steeper uphill. You reach a bend of a forest road, which you only briefly touch and then ascend further northwest.
The higher you go, the more often you pass small clearings. The terrain gradually becomes a broad mountain ridge. After a short flatter section, moderately inclined forest slopes lead up to the Weitalm at 1694 meters, which offers a good resting place due to its beautiful views.
Shortly afterwards, the forest thins out and you now follow a distinctive ridge, which, due to the dwarf pine cover, requires a preferably high snow cover. Without any orientation problems, you eventually reach the 1870 m high summit cross, which offers a fantastic view of the peaks Kreuzspitze and Geierköpfe directly opposite and the Hochplatte on the other side.
The descent is along the same route.
