Babina Glava (Lovćen) - Circular route
A technically simple circular hike with beautiful views of the peaks and high basins of Lovćen National Park as well as the coastal landscapes to the west.
On an old military road, you first climb the viewing hill Treštenički vrh, where you enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Lovćen National Park.
Then continue hiking to Babina Glava and already at the beginning of the summit ascent have a very nice view of the sea. Reaching the top, in good weather you can see from Tivat to Budva.
The return path leads through remote high basins, which are still partly used for livestock farming but were permanently settled in earlier times.
Author’s recommendation
The drive on the R-25 road from the Visitor Center towards Kotor offers one of the most beautiful views from above of the Bay of Kotor.

Roadbook
From the Lovćen Visitor Center, follow the R-25 road west to the first left turn, where a sign "Babina Glava" directs you to a red-marked shortcut through the forest, which you follow. Another hairpin bend is also shortened through the forest; after crossing a path, continue straight uphill through the forest following slightly left-shifted markings until you reach a signposted turn "Babina Glava" to the left onto a pull road. You reach an information board with a signpost "Treštenički vrh" to the left, which you follow in long switchbacks up to the summit of this viewing hill.
From Treštenički vrh, return to the information board and follow the markings to the left towards Babina Glava. A paved old pull road leads flatly up and down to a signposted fork, where you turn sharply left and follow the red markings towards Babina Glava. Initially still flat and later uphill in switchbacks, it goes up to Babina Glava, where you can already go to a viewpoint to the right in the first switchback, then further up leave the paved path and follow the red markings over karst terrain to reach the summit directly.
From the summit of Babina Glava, hike along the ridge, first on path trails and soon guided again by markings to the Koložunske grede, then turn slightly left and go increasingly downhill until the path reaches a crossroads after a right bend. Here you must turn sharply left to follow stone cairns northwards, slightly uphill, until the path leads behind a memorial pyramid into a gravel road. From here, follow the signs towards "Jezerski vrh." Passing the ruins of a former hamlet, you soon go uphill on a paved track to a saddle, shortly after ascending again in switchbacks to another saddle and then continue for a longer section gently uphill before the path descends in a wide double bend to the road, where you keep left and thus return to the starting point.
