Egy falu utolsó maradványa
A középkorban Töttöskál falu állt ezen a helyen, ahol most Szentbékkálla szőlősorai és présházai lepik el a hegyoldalt. A falvak nevében megjelenő Kál elnevezés az azonos nevű nemzetség névadójára utal.
A falu temploma valószínűleg 12-13. századi, tehát az Árpád-korban épülhetett. Kialakítását tekintve keletelt épület volt, azaz nyugat-keleti hosszirányban épült úgy, hogy a hívők kelet felé imádkoztak benne; ennek megfelelően bejárata a nyugati oldalon nyílt. Kétpilléres kegyúri karzat is volt a bejárat mellett. És ez minden, amit az épületről tudunk.
A török előrenyomulás idején a falu elnéptelenedett, a templom állapota leromlott. Később ugyan helyrehozták, de egy 19. század végéről származó leírásban már ismét romként szerepel.

Directions
- A buszról leszállva induljunk kelet felé az Országos Kéktúra K jelzésén, a faluszéli bekötőúton! Amint a K jelzés eléri a szőlőket, és balra fordul, a rom felkereséséhez jobbra kell térni a KL jelzésen, ami már a romhoz vezet (1 km, 22 m szintemelkedés).
Parking
- Autóval a településről induljunk kelet felé, és ahol az autóút 90 fokban jobbra fordul, menjünk tovább egyenesen a rosszabb minőségű úton a szőlők közé! Egészen a rom közelébe juthatunk, ahol parkolni is lehet.
- Kővágóörs felől érkezve a Zánkát Tapolcával összekötő főútról a Szentbékkálla felé vezető első leágazásnál kell jobbra fordulni, majd ahol a faluba vezető út élesen balra kanyarodik, rá kell térni a jobbra tartó, rossz minőségű útra. Ezen megközelíthetjük a romot.
