Szentbékkálla mellett, a sűrűn növő fák közt rejtélyes épületrom áll, melyet az Országos Kéktúra is érint.
A fák közt rejtőző rom történetében több a kérdőjel, mint a konkrétum; már nevének két tagja is bizonytalanságokkal teli. Ha a térképre nézünk, sehol a környéken nem látunk Veléte nevű települést. Persze gondolhatnánk, hogy sok más faluhoz hasonlóan „felfalta" a történelem – a valóság ezzel szemben az, hogy Velétéről csak Kárpátalján tudunk, a Balaton hegyvidékén nincs és nem is volt ilyen nevű település.

A palota kifejezés is magyarázatra szorul, de e tekintetben is kevés tényt ismerünk: egy 1559-ben kelt okirat azt valószínűsíti, hogy a veszprémi püspök palotája, pontosabban udvarháza lehetett itt. Ezt támasztja alá az is, hogy a 14. században a király Tátika váráért cserébe a püspöknek adta Szentbékkállát. Mindezek mellett régi helyi mondák arról szóltak, hogy III. András király vadászkastélya állhatott ezen a helyen.

A gótikus stílusú épületből nem sok maradt, de jól látható rajta az egykori erkélyt tartó konzol maradványa. Szintjeinek száma vitatott. Minden valószínűség szerint az erre portyázó török csapatok rombolták le.
