Viszonylag biztos vízvételezési lehetőség az Országos Kéktúra mentén az Öreg-hegyi-kút, ami több is, mint egyszerű forrás: a foglalat azoknak az időknek a mementója, amikor nagy becsben tartották a faluszéli szőlők öntözéséhez elengedhetetlen vizet.

Szentbékkálla legkiterjedtebb szőlőterülete kúszik fel a Fekete-hegy vállán, ezért a szőlőbirtokosok bazaltból épített foglalattal és kis fülkével igyekeztek megvédeni a kút tisztaságát. Az óvó szándék fejeződik ki a mára már nehezen kiolvasható feliratban is: „E kútba piszkos edént meríteni tilos! Akit rajta kapnak, 5 pengőre büntetik! Elöljáróság"

Előfordulhat, hogy hosszú nyári kánikulák, szárazságok idején a forrás vize elapad.

Az itt felbukkanó víz a délebbre található, jobban karsztosodó kőzetek felől érkezik.
