A little bit of life lights are a dazzling attraction in Sotkamo. Every evening at dusk, these lights come on at the same time as the street lights, creating a magical atmosphere in the area.

The actual light show starts every Saturday at 18:00, and runs until 23:00 on the hour. Welcome to Hiukka to admire the light art!
On winter nights, the best place to see the lights is from the ice. There is a winter trail for walkers and cyclists and a separate cross-country ski trail under the trunk. The lights can also be seen from Hirvensaari. This location offers an ideal view of the light shows. At the same time, you can also admire the famous sculpture of the Thinker of the Havukka-aho.
Designed by lighting designer Jukka Laukkanen, the experience lights and the light show on Hiukka's sandy slopes in Sotkamo have delighted locals and tourists alike since 2021. Sun Effects was responsible for the technical design and programming of the project and for selecting the most suitable equipment for the project in cooperation with Laukkanen.
During the autumn holidays, Hiukka will also host the Reflektor photo-art event.

SotKatti is a local bus service between Sotkamo and Vuokatti. Hiukka is in the centre of Sotkamo and the bus station is within walking distance.
