Um das Jahr 725 gründete der Hl. Korbinian auf dem Weihenstephaner Berg ein Benediktinerkloster. An die ursprüngliche Benediktinerabtei erinnern unter anderem das barocke Gartensalettl und die Ruine der Korbinianskapelle mit dem Korbiniansbrünnlein.
Auf der Kuppe des Weihenstephaner Berges befindet sich auch die Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan, gegründet im Jahr 1040. Sie firmiert als „älteste Brauerei der Welt“. Die Führungen beginnen mit einem Besuch im Brauereimuseum „Zum Ursprung des Bieres“. Gleich danach geht es weiter in die heiligen Hallen der Braukunst.
Das großzügige Gelände des Lehr- und Forschungszentrums Weihenstephan ist mit modernen Plastiken geschmückt, die zwischen Hörsälen, Instituten und Bibliothek einen interessanten Skulpturenpark bilden, in dem Alf Lechner ebenso vertreten ist wie Fritz König oder Leo Kornbrust.
Tausende Besucher zieht es jedes Jahr in die Lehr- und Demonstrationsgärten der Hochschule Weihenstephan-Triesdorf. Wer eine Auszeit im Grünen genießen möchte oder Anregungen für den eigenen Garten sucht, kann folgende Gärten besuchen: Sichtungsgarten für Stauden und Gehölze, Kleingartenanlage, Hofgarten, Parterregarten und der Oberdieckgarten.

An der Ausfahrt Freising-Mitte auf die Ismaninger Straße nach Norden starten, dann nach links und über die Isarbrücke fahren. Rechts abbiegen auf die Münchner Straße. Nach ca. 2 Kilometer links abbiegen auf Saarstraße (Schildernach München, Nürnberg, Allershausen), dann weiter auf der Johannisstraße. Nach 300 Meter nach links auf die Vöttinger Straße abbbiegen. Dem Straßenverlauf ca. 1,2 Kilometer folgen dann nach links auf Weihenstephaner Berg abbiegen. Dort befindet sich der Parkplatz.
