At an altitude of 1,038 m, the Hochkopf is the highest elevation in the Bühl-Bühlertal-Ottersweier holiday region. The peaceful, scenic area is a special treat for walkers and hikers. The march to the summit is rewarded with marvellous views. On clear days, the view extends across the Rhine plain to the Vosges mountains and across to the Swabian Alb.
The summit of the Hochkopf has a typical grassy landscape.
The summit is deliberately kept bare to protect this biotope.
In late summer, hikers can enjoy a purple-coloured sea of heather.
