A Mátraverebély-Szentkút Nemzeti Kegyhely közelében, attól 750 méterre, északnyugatra található a Szűz Mária-forrás és pihenőhelye. A Szentkúti-patak csöndes, nyugodt völgyében vezet az Országos Kéktúra 19. szakasza is.
A forrás vize épített kőkúpból ömlik ki, vize a Szentkúti-patakba csorog, és hűvös, tiszta, kiváló ízű, ásványi anyagokban gazdag. A Szűz Mária-forrás közelében találhatóak a Szent-László-hasadék forrásai. Ezek vizéhez számos csodába illő gyógyulás kötődik, amelyekről Szentkút zarándokhely a nevét kapta.
A pihenőhely épülete egy egyszerű, remek állapotú, fából készült esőbeálló asztallal, padokkal. Akár a Kéktúrán jár erre az ember, akár a kegyhely környékén tesz hosszabb-rövidebb sétát, érdemes itt megállni egy pillanatra. A helyszín tökéletesen alkalmas egy nagyobb szusszanásra is a Szentkúti-patak völgyének nyugalma, csendje és a bővizű Szűz Mária-forrás finom vize miatt.
A pihenő a K, a Z és a Mária út közös szakaszáról induló rövid K● jelzésű úton érhető el a Szentkúti-patakon történő átkeléssel. Erre egy remek állapotú fahíd szolgál, így a pihenő és a forrás is biztonságosan megközelíthető.

- A buszmegállótól és a kiépített parkolótól is a zarándokhely irányába haladva, 300 m után csatlakozunk rá a K és a ᵯ turistaútra. A jelzett K és a ᵯ turistaúton további 600 m-t kell megtenni a Szűz Mária-forrásig (1,8 km, 0 m szintemelkedés).
Parking
- A Nemzeti Kegyhely kiépített parkolóját használhatjuk, amely általában ingyenes. Kivétel ez alól a Virágvasárnap és a Mindenszentek közötti vasárnapok, valamint a búcsúsnapok, amikor személykocsival 800 Ft. a parkolás díja.
