Rieka Hron je po Váhu druhou najväčšou slovenskou riekou.
Pramení pod Kráľovou hoľou a po 289 km ústí v Štúrove do Dunaja.
Hron je minimálne poznačený ľudskou činnosťou a práve preto je často vyhľadávaný vodákmi.
Malé vodné diela sú väčšinou prejazdné a voda preteká svojim pôvodným riečiskom.
Splav Hrona je možné absolvovať bez menších problémov po celom toku rieky.
