Oroszlány valaha a vértesi szénbányászat központja volt, azonban ma erre már szinte semmi nem emlékeztet a városban. Szerencsére az egykori XX. akna területén kialakított kiállítás méltó emléket állít a bányászoknak és a bányászatnak egyaránt.
Az igazán látványos elemek a már említett fémszörnyeken túl találhatók: egy kis mintatáró (gyakorlatilag egy 1:1 arányú bányavágat-makett) mellett az aknatorony és a hozzá tartozó gépház uralja a bányatelepet. Ezekben is eredeti helyükön megőrizve találjuk a csillék függőleges szállítását szolgáló monumentális aknagépet (vitlát), illetve kast (speciális liftet), továbbá az európai szinten is egyedülállóan megőrzött csillefeladó állomást. A szabadon bebarangolható terület mellett egy szigorúan zárt egység is várja a látogatókat: az itt működő szabadulószoba „Szabotázs a bányaüzemben” névvel üzemel.

Public transport
- Az oroszlányi helyi járatok közül az 1T jelzésű április 1. és október 30. között szabad- és munkaszüneti napokon biztosít eljutást napi egy alkalommal a vasútállomásról a Kamalduli remeteséghez, egyéb napokon bármely helyi, vagy Oroszlányba közlekedő helyközi járatról a Körforgalom megállónál kell leszállni.
- A Tatabánya/Komárom–Székesfehérvár/Dunaújváros között közlekedő buszokról Majkpuszta megállóhelyen kell leszállni.

- Az 1T busz és a helyközi járatok megállóhelyétől körülbelül 2 kilométert kell sétálni a remeteség bejáratától a múzeumig a S jelzésű turistaúton.
- Oroszlány, Körforgalom megállótól körülbelül fél kilométerrel hosszabb utat kell megtenni a Rákóczi Ferenc út-Takács Imre utca útvonalon.
Parking
- Autóval a múzeum ingyenes parkolójában lehet megállni a bejárat mellett.
