The special exhibition "100 years of the Black Forest Association's Hohenlochenhütte" can also be seen again in 2024.
The Wolfach local history museum was opened in 1937, making it one of the oldest in the region. In an extensive renovation programme, the rooms were largely restored to the condition they were in when the castle was built (1671 - 81). Visitors can now regain an impression of the beauty of this former banqueting hall of the former lords of the castle.
The exhibition on Wolfach's town history has been completely redesigned. A special showpiece is a model of the town from 1560, and a look into the medieval dungeon inside the hunger tower still sends shivers down the spines of many visitors today.
The Kinzig rafting workshop is housed in the former castle kitchen as a separate department. This traditional trade, once a privilege of the people of Wolfach, is presented in detail, from woodcutting to the rafting itself and ancillary trades such as the making of the Wieden. The raftsmen's travelling souvenirs are also on display. A film explains the hard work of the raftsmen, whose profession was made redundant 100 years ago by the railway.
