The Banya-Bashi Mosque in Sofia is one of the oldest mosques in Europe.
The Banya-Bashi Mosque is one of the most important buildings from the period of Ottoman rule in Sofia. It was built in 1566 and its name is a reminder of the former bathhouse that was adjacent to the mosque.
This mosque is the only one in Sofia that is actively used by the Muslim community. Outside prayer times, the interior can also be visited by visitors.
