II. Lajos a mohácsi csatatérre tartva Sárkány Ambrus kúriájában szállt meg 1526. júliusában. A király érdi tartózkodását örökíti meg az emlékmű, melyet 1926-ban emeltek a mohácsi csata 400. évfordulója tiszteletére.
A Hadimúzeum kezdeményezésére Baranyay Nándor főjegyző és a Jézus Társaság érdi házfőnöksége emlékművet állított a Római út és a Kastély utca találkozásánál, a kastélyhoz vezető út elején. Az emlékmű felirata azt a néhány napot idézi vissza, amikor II. Lajos királyunk (1516-1526) Érden tartózkodott Mohács felé vezető útja során. A kastély támfala előtt elhelyezett emlékművet egy római korból származó oroszlán díszíti. Az emlékmű másik ékessége az Ákosházi Sárkány család címere.Mellette található a magyar és lengyel csapatok egyesülésének emlékét őrző tábla.
