A tavat a Morgó-patak felduzzasztásával hozták létre – eredetileg vízgazdálkodási célból. Később a horgászat egyre nagyobb szerepet kapott, és pihenőhelynek is érdemes volt kiépíteni a hangulatos helyet. Ma padok, asztalok is várják a kirándulókat, a tó közepén létesített fapavilonban pedig esküvői szertartásokat is tartanak.
