A hangulatos, nagyon összetett szerkezetű kis élőhely egyszerre erdő és mégsem az: a „kétszázasok” körül dinamikusan növekedő fiatalabb fák és cserjék jelzik, hogy megszűnt a legeltetés, és az erdő elkezdi visszavenni a legelőként „utolsó óráit élő” területet, ami korábban sem lehetett egyéb, mint zárt erdő. Megállapítható az is, hogy a matuzsálemek többsége már a szétesés előrehaladott állapotában, félúton van az élő- és a holtfa között.
