We are based in Bad St. Leonhard in the upper Lavant Valley in Carinthia. We are a family business and operate our manufactory as a secondary occupation. Together, we form a team where everyone has a task that brings them joy. However, this is only possible due to the high commitment and mutual support of the family.
“For us, quality has always taken precedence over quantity. This is reflected in both the distillery and our vinegars.”Herbert is the creative mind and driving force of the manufactory. Although he works as a real estate agent, his love for agriculture has never faded. What began in 2011 as a small hobby beekeeping gradually grew into a successful manufactory. He completed his training as an “Agricultural Specialist” and a “Tree and Cellar Keeper” through a second educational path. A special experience was the training as a “Mature Distillate Sommelier.” He passed the exam for the Mature Distillate Sommelier in March 2016 with "excellent success." Dealing with flavors and aromas is one of his particular passions, and many ideas spring from his impulsive temperament.
Andrea is the good spirit of the manufactory. Calm and thoughtful, but always keeping the goal in sight, she ensures stability within the team. Andrea has the finest nose among us all. With her sensory skill, she distinguishes the good from the bad. Therefore, she is an integral part of every distillation process.
We must not forget all the good spirits, starting with the children Tamara, Alex, and Felix, over good friends to our parents. And when things get really tricky, the grandkids are sometimes assigned to brush the quinces.
We passionately and enthusiastically produce fine vinegars, noble distillates, and digestible honey products. Long-standing traditions combined with the latest methods help us create natural and high-quality food and delicacies.
Beekeeping in harmony with nature using the ingredients of forest, meadows, mountains, water, tradition, and enthusiasm! The bees capture the power of summer in the honey. They enrich it with the nectar from the blossoms of the Lavant Valley, creating something very special and distinctive. Our bees provide us with primary products of the highest quality. Our nature-oriented approach supports our bee colonies. We harvest honey carefully and process it gently. We can thus offer you spicy forest honey, blossom honey with forest, and— as a special specialty— delicately stirred cream honey.
"…dedicated to enjoyment" is what our entire passion for fruit processing "burns" for. The special thing about our distillates is the variety and expressiveness of the aromas. Our goal is to bring the uniqueness, intensity, and complete aromatic richness of each fruit from the mash through the distillery and into the bottle!
The top goal in vinegar production is to create characterful products from high-quality raw materials. Only perfectly ripened fruits from the traditional orchard, the forest, or the home garden are processed. As a pure natural product, our vinegar is fermented over beech wood and aged in wooden or stainless steel barrels until fully matured.
