Mementó a völgy szívében
A Papdi-árok környezetében két középkori település terült el: Alsópapd és Felsőpapd. A két falunak közös temploma volt, mely itt, a mai Szűz Mária-kápolna helyén állt, vesztét a török hódítások okozták: a folyamatos török fenyegetettség miatt a falvak elnéptelenedtek. Az 1880-as években az egykori templom romjaira kápolnát emeltek, mely azonban nem volt hosszú életű: a mocsaras területen az épület megsüllyedt, le kellett bontani. 1930-ban döntöttek új kápolna építéséről, melyet aztán 1931-ben fel is szenteltek, Szűz Mária tiszteletére. Állapota a 21. századra jelentősen leromlott, 2022-ben azonban turisztikai fejlesztés révén új tetőszerkezetet és új külső vakolatot kapott. A kápolnában évente egyszer, Kisboldogasszony napjához kapcsolódóan tartanak szentmisét.
A kápolna környezete
A kápolna bejáratával szemben az 1919-ben állított Jó Pásztor szobrát láthatjuk, szomszédságában padok és tűzrakóhely is található, eső esetén fedezékbe is húzódhatunk. Az árok mocsaras részén kialakított pallósoros ösvényt bejárva közelebbről is megtekinthetjük az ingoványos terület élővilágát, kiágazó lépcsőkön pedig egy madármegfigyelő toronyba is feljuthatunk. Érdemes tehát távcsövet is hoznunk, hiszen a nádas világa számos madárfajnak nyújt élőhelyet. A környéken nemcsak madarakkal, hanem értékes növényekkel is találkozhatunk, tavasszal többek között védett orchideafajokat is láthatunk (bíboros kosbor, fehér madársisak).

- Leggyorsabban a Lengyel, Miklósmajor buszmegállóból juthatunk el a kápolnáig.
- Mucsiból indulva a Mucsi, Posta megállóban szálljunk le a buszról.

- A Lengyel, Miklósmajor buszmegállóból a műúton északkelet felé induljunk el, majd a P◼ jelzésen térjünk balra. A P jelzés elérése után forduljunk jobbra (2,4 km, szintemelkedés nélkül).
- A Mucsi, községháza megállótól indulva a P turistaúton tudjuk megközelíteni a kápolnát (4,2 km, 134 m szintemelkedés).
- Az annafürdői parkolóból a P◼ jelzésen, majd a P jelzésen jobbra fordulva érkezünk meg a kápolnához (3,6 km, 22 m szintemelkedés).
