A kastély története
A lengyeli kastélyt Apponyi József építtette 1824.
A kastélypark a kastély átépítéseivel párhuzamosan formálódott: Apponyi Rudolf felesége, Anna 22 hektárral megnövelte, valamint bővítette a kertben fellelhető fafajok számát is. Apponyi Sándor idejében szökőkutak és víztorony is létesült a park területén, illetve ő hozatta ide a napjainkban is látható obeliszket, melyet eredetileg 1824-ben állíttattak Apponyi Antalnak a család kölesdi birtokán. A kastélypark az állami tulajdonba kerülést követően pusztulásnak indult, ennek vetett véget a park 1975-ös védetté nyilvánítása.
Apponyiak nyughelye
A kastélytól néhány perc sétányira, a Szent Teréz-templom mögötti parkban találjuk a lengyeli uradalmat felvirágoztató Apponyi József, Apponyi Rudolf és felesége: Benckendorff Anna, Apponyi Sándor és felesége: Esterházy Alexandra végső nyughelyét.
