A 14. század végéről származik az első leírás a Somló hegy délnyugati oldalán álló, feltehetőleg tüskevári pálosok által emelt Szent Kereszt-templomról, melynek pusztulásáról nem maradt fenn hiteles adat, de egyes feltételezések a török vésszel hozzák összefüggésbe.
Újraépítését a hívek a 19. század elején határozták el, a szüreti must árának kamatából tudták megváltani a telket, de az építkezés és az új kápolna berendezése is közadakozásból valósult meg.
A teraszos kiszögellésen álló, aranyló toronysisakú templom előtt szép, rendezett teret találunk, ahonnan belátjuk dél felé a sík tájat, tiszta időben pedig jól látszódnak a horizonton a Balaton-felvidék tanúhegyei, a Somló távolabbi "testvérei".

- Ha busszal érkezünk, Somlóvásárhely, szőlőhegy megállónál érdemes leszállni.
- Vonattal Somlóvásárhely megállónál szálljunk le.

Directions
- A buszmegállóból induljunk el a hegy felé vezető úton. Elhaladunk a Tornai pince előtt, jobb- majd balkanyar után elérjük a S+ jelzést. Itt forduljunk balra, majd ismét balra a SL jelzésen (1,4 km).
- A vonatállomástól a főút felé indulunk el, átmegyünk az úton, majd a P és S jelzéseket követjük a Taposókútig. Innen a S+ kereszt jelzésen, majd a SL jelzésen érünk el a kápolnáig. (2,9 km).
- A parkolótól az úton nyugat felé elindulva 900 méterre találjuk a kápolnát (S+ majd SL jelzések).

- A Somlói Borok Boltja előtt lehet parkolni.
