Szentegát 1945-ig a Biedermann család birtoka volt, ők építették a kastélyt, a kápolnát, illetve egy villát is, amit vadászházként használtak. Az eklektikus-szecessziós kastély, melyet Biedermann Rezső báró építtetett 1880-ban, ma magánkézben van, így legfeljebb a kerítés utcai oldaláról lehet megcsodálni.
A kápolna azonban régi fényében ragyog 2018 óta, ekkorra készült el teljes felújítása. A kereszt alaprajzú épületet Biedermann Rudolf báró emeltette családi mauzóleumnak, így természetesen nem fukarkodtak a díszítéssel. A tervezői valószínűleg Schlauch Imre és Kirchstein Ágoston voltak, akik a kápolna kupoláját a budapesti Szent István-bazilika mintájára alkották meg, annak 1:7 arányú kicsinyített másaként. A kapun belépve igazi ragyogás fogadja a látogatót – szerencsére semmi nem látszik abból, hogy 1949-től (a Biedermann-birtok államosításától kezdve) mintegy hetven éven keresztül egyre csak romlott az épület állaga. Eredeti fényében csillog a siklósi márványból készült padozata, freskói, és minden bizonnyal az Angster-féle orgona is szépen szól. A kápolna közepén olvashatóak ugyan a Biedermann család ide temetett tagjainak nevei, de a halottak a mozsgói temetőben alusszák már örök álmukat. A kápolnában havonta-kéthavonta misét tartanak.
