Das attraktive Kulturprogramm mit seinen zahlreichen Veranstaltungen, das Premium-Weingut Schloss Halbturn und die Vinothek sowie das Schloss-Hotel und Restaurant Knappenstöckl locken jährlich tausende BesucherInnen an. Im Dezember verzaubert der berühmte Pannonische Weihnachtsmarkt im historischen Ambiente des Schlosses seine Besucher.
Das Schloss wurde im Jahre 1711 von Lucas v. Hildebrandt, einem der bedeutendsten österreichischen Vertreter der spätbarocken Baukunst unter der Regierungszeit von Kaiser Karl VI. erbaut. Durch dessen Tochter, Maria Theresia, gelangte Schloss Halbturn in den Privatbesitz des Hauses Habsburg-Lothringen. Sie erwarb es von der ungarischen Krone und schenkte es ihrer Lieblingstochter Erzherzogin Marie Christine zur Hochzeit mit Herzog Albert-Casimir von Sachsen-Teschen, dem Begründer der Albertina in Wien. In Folge blieb Schloss Halbturn im Eigentum dieser Linie des Hauses Habsburg-Lothringen.
Ein besonderes Juwel des Schlosses ist das Deckenfresko “Allegorie der Zeit und des Lichtes”, das als Hochzeitsgeschenk für Erzherzogin Marie Christine 1765 von Franz Anton Maulbertsch angefertigt wurde.
