Wolfsberg: Fleischbrücke
Am Ende des Hohen Platzes neben dem Rathaus liegt die barocke "Fleischbrücke". Sie verbindet die Obere mit der Unteren Stadt und überspannt die Lavant.
Nur auf der Fleischbrücke durften damals Tiere geschlachtet werden. Da es noch keine geregelte Abfallentsorgung gab, bestand immer die Gefahr von Seuchen. Deswegen wurden Schlachtabfälle direkt in die Lavant geworfen und damit sicher entsorgt. Offensichtlich zur Freude der Fische! Denn die dicksten wurden stets neben der Brücke gefangen.
Auf der über 500 Jahre alten Fleischbrücke wurden 1982 nach alten Vorbildern ein gekreuzigter Christus und ein Heiliger Nepomuk aufgestellt.
