From the impressive Admont Abbey, it goes north over the Enns and initially romantically along the Esslingbach into Mühlau (with hydroelectric power plant). We ascend slightly on forest roads through woods to the Gstattmaier Alm and then a hiking trail up to the Pyhrgasgatterl (1308m, state border between Styria and Upper Austria) and to the Rohrauerhaus. On alpine and forest roads, we then descend on the other side to the Bosruck Hut and further through the wild romantic Doktor Vogelgesang Gorge. The last kilometers are along the paved road to Spital am Pyhrn with the former collegiate foundation with its baroque abbey church.

St. Hemma was born around 980 as Countess of Friesach-Zeltschach; charity and philanthropy made her well-known among the population. With her wealth, she also founded the Benedictine monasteries of Gurk and Admont. The latter houses the largest monastery library in the world - and is always worth a visit.
