From the impressive Admont Abbey, it goes north over the Enns and initially romantically along the Esslingbach into Mühlau (with hydroelectric power plant). We ascend slightly on forest roads through woods to the Gstattmaier Alm and then a hiking trail up to the Pyhrgasgatterl (1308m, state border between Styria and Upper Austria) and to the Rohrauerhaus. On alpine and forest roads, we then descend on the other side to the Bosruck Hut and further through the wild romantic Doktor Vogelgesang Gorge. The last kilometers are along the paved road to Spital am Pyhrn with the former collegiate foundation with its baroque abbey church.

Later, you pass by Gleinkersee and walk to Windischgarsten. From Edlbach, the route goes over a gentle ridge to Spital am Pyhrn with its imposing former collegiate church.
