Grohmann's Alpine Path

The route of the Dolomites High Route No. 9 runs, unlike most other Dolomites High Routes, as a transverse from west to east over the ridges of the Dolomites that mostly rise from south to north.

Titian's Alpine Path

This loop partly retraces the route of the Alta Via delle Creste: starting from Passo Padon, you reach the Crepe Rosse at 2223m, Sass de Roi 2372m, the Cime di Agnereze 2352m, the summit of Monte Migogn at 2384m, then descend towards Malga Laste and return to the starting point. Following vast meadows, in a succession of ridges and saddles, you can admire here and there the remains of old artifacts dating back to the First World War. From the summit, an impressive Monte Civetta is visible on the horizon.

With its dark contours standing out amid the Monti Pallidi,  the color ang shape of the Migogn are a peculiar element in sharp contrast to the Dolomites. The origin of the Migogn can be traced back to 200 million years ago, when the material produced by from vulcanic eruptions under the sea settled here, forming heaps of debris of various kinds for over 1000 metres. Erosion subsequently wore away the rock thus formed, wich was much less compact then dolomia: over the centuries thi created a long ridge that forms the watershed between Val Pettorina and Val Cordevole, along wich the Alta Via delle creste route runs. Starting out from the Padon Pass, the route links, one after the other, the Crepe Rosse (2223m.), the Sass de Roi (2372m.), the Cime di Agnereze (2352m.) and the highest point of the Migogn (2384m.). as the routes runs through vast expanses of grassland, featuring a sequence of ridges and saddles, you can admire here an d there the remains of old objects dating back to the First War. From the peak, the route begins its descent towards Ronch di Laste, where it is best to have feft a car waiting for you upon return.
