Im württembergischen Allgäu bei Isny liegt die Adelegg – ein Waldgebirge an der Landesgrenze zu Bayern. Es handelt sich um eine Fortsetzung der alpinen Nagelfluhkette und lag in der letzten Eiszeit wie eine Zunge zwischen den beiden Gletscherblöcken, die sich nach Oberschwaben und in das bayrische Schwaben vorgeschoben haben.
