Fox and hare say "Good night" here. This refers to the Adelegg, the forested low mountain range between Leutkirch, Isny, and Kempten. Its highest point is the Schwarze Grat at 1118 meters. It was the glassmakers who brought life to this remote area from the 17th to the 19th century. Many testimonies of this are still preserved and invite exploration. In the former glassmakers' village Schmidsfelden, a museum shows stages of the glass history of this area.
The route with 22 info panels leads from the Kürnach valley via Schmidsfelden to Eisenbach, then via the Eschach valley and the Alpe Wenger Egg to Wengen. The path is not a circular route; it opens up as an out-and-back.

The so-called glassmakers’ village is considered the highlight of the route, as much from the glass era has been preserved here: the glassworks, the "Oberhaus", the chapel, the magazines, some workers’ houses, as well as glass in all varieties. Schmidsfelden’s glass museum provides information about both the history of the "glass barons" and that of the simple workers. The glassblower Stefan Michaelis has settled in the village, and with a bit of luck, you can watch him at work in his workshop.
