On the Glasiusweg through the Adelegg and its history
Note: The 4.6 km refers only to the outbound route. Returning to the starting point doubles the distance
The Glasiusweg, a good 4 kilometers long, runs along the Eschach through the Adelegg. Along the way, 16 interactive learning and play stations invite both young and old to immerse themselves in history and get to know the unique era of glassmaking in the Adelegg. The mascot, the glass spirit Glasius, is always part of the experience and shares stories from his own perspective.
The stations of the Glasiusweg bring history to life. They convey the impression that the glassmakers "were just here" and visually immerse visitors in the time of glassmaking.
To create this impression, almost all stations are built with materials that were available at the time and are designed to look as historically accurate as possible.
The stations are full of exciting stories from the era of the glassmakers. However, these stories want to be discovered. Text panels along the way are hidden under double floors, behind shutters, and in many other hiding places.
Author’s recommendation
- The Glasiusweg is not a circular route
- Outbound and return routes are the same
- The route can be halved by starting in the middle, at the Ulmerthal parking lot
