Passing the Corno di Pichea and Monte Tofino, the route follows a mountain trail—partly exposed and briefly secured—as it crosses the 2,000-meter mark. This is followed by a long descent to the turquoise-blue Lake Tenno, before the final climb of about 400 meters in elevation to Rifugio San Pietro.

On day 7 (ATG4-34), you hike from Madice (Maso pra Cavai) to Lake Tenno with a break in Ballino. There are plantations of chestnut and sweet chestnut trees shortly before Tenno, but they are privately owned. As was usual this summer, the water level of Lake Tenno was also considerably lower than usual. The light rain on that day could not refill the green-blue water in the lake. The cappuccino bar in Ballino still had the notice that Andreas Hofer was also once active there. The hotel at Lake Tenno offered a pool for swimming as well, but with very cold water.

I would think this is harder in worse weather conditions than when I was there with my girlfriend in warm and sunny weather. As Via Ferrata's go this is a scenic and slightly unique one close to the waterfall. As I've read in other reviews there are sections where the grip would be perilous in wet or cold conditions, and those sections have mostly natural holds and holes in the rock. I would therefore not recommend this one for unexperienced climbers of Via Ferrata's. I've seen this route described as a C-level route, but if unexperienced or in worse weather I would certainly call this a D-level route.

Gutes Schuhwerk empfohlen. Lange Tour, aber sehr lohnende Bergwanderung. Wir kommen wieder.

It is certainly a very nice route! However, despite my considerable experience, I find it quite challenging. There are route descriptions that give a difficulty of C. This may be appropriate, but today it was all wet (which is probably often the case except in a dry summer), so for me the difficulty is more like D. You have to climb in the rock several times, and the wet rock makes this difficult for both hands and feet. So for beginners this is an absolute no-go! For smaller children it is extremely difficult as there are many occasions where you need to have enough arm length to reach the rock or the steel rope. Children may need to be belayed. Also be aware that because of the difficulties, people are quite slow. So there will be repeated stops, so it is important to have a self-belay sling to be able to rest in different positions.

The combination of waterfall and climbing path is just incredibly. If you want to check more than photos, check our short video from this place: https://youtu.be/ZxFAjd8NMvs

Very nice, athletic and beautiful route, that climbs in the shade after 2PM. Approach signade is a bit convoluted and parking in the village is limited (paid parking at the Biker’s Grill)

Bellissima esperienza! Come seconda ferrata l'ho trovata abbastanza impegnativa, tuttavia senza grossi problemi. Fortemente consigliata!
