Long-distance hikes on the Germersheim County

3,493 kilometers from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea: The Wolf Trail connects six countries, coastlines, low mountain ranges, and the Alps into a unique European adventure.

The Odenwald-Vosges hiking trail connects the two European long-distance hiking trails E1 and E2. The German section through the Odenwald low mountain range is managed by the Odenwaldklub e.V..

Surrounded by idyllic meadows, the route follows the Rhine from Mannheim to Karlsruhe.

The Saar-Rhine hiking trail begins in Hassel and leads via Zweibrücken to Wörth. Thus, a total of 129 exciting kilometers await us through the Palatinate Forest Nature Park, the largest contiguous forested area in Germany.

I tried to connect different European hiking trails, Pilgrims routes, nature paths and other regional trails to find my way through Germany. Towards the Bodensee. 

The Saar-Rhein Trail starts in Saarbrücken and leads via Zweibrücken to Wörth am Rhein. On the hilly route through the Palatinate Forest Nature Park, we experience the sights and highlights of the region.

The pilgrimage hike follows the southern route of the Way of St. James, starting from the Speyer Cathedral to Hornbach Monastery.

This long-distance hike through Germany's low mountain ranges and mountains combines various existing hiking and mountain paths into a multi-month circular route totaling 2591 km. We walked it during the Covid-19 summer from June to October 2020. 

An almost 3,500 km long-distance hiking trail that crosses seven completely different landscapes - from the coast of the Polish Baltic Sea to low mountain ranges, the high Alps and the sea.

Today is the second stage of my spring hike. This year it goes from Karlsruhe towards Wissembourg. Afterwards through Saarland to Trier and, if all goes well, further to Luxembourg.
