Na hlavnom hrebeni Veľkej Fatry sa nachádza hneď niekoľko turistických útulní a salašov, na ktorých sa dá pokojne prenocovať. Jedným z takýchto je aj salaš pod Kýškami. Koliba je situovaná priamo pri žltej turistickej značke, ktorá schádza smerom z rázcestia pod Kýškami do Vyšnej Revúcej. Salaš po Kýškami je jasne vidieť už z diaľky, pri zostupe z Ploskej. Malá zrubová stavba salaša pod Kýškami má z jednej strany plechovú a z druhej šindľovú strechu. Steny sú však dobre utesnené a zvnútra sú zase obité doskami. Prefukovať by teda nemalo. Nízkymi dverami sa vojde do jediného priestoru, ktorý nemá okná. Podlaha koliby je tvorená z udupanej hliny. Na čelnej stene sa nachádza široká pričňa na spanie a pozdĺž bočnej steny je zase užšia. Tá sa však pomaly rozpadáva. Na opačnej strane je neveľký stôl a funkčná kovová piecka.
