Rifugio Sandro Pertini
First Avenue
At the southern foot of the sublime Sassolungo in the Val Gardena Dolomites, the traditional mountain hut Rifugio Sandro Pertini presents itself with a large sun terrace, a large alpine meadow with a playground for the children and of course...
... an incomparable view upwards: to the Sassolungo. Just one turn and the panoramic tour continues: Rosengarten, Latemar, Monzonikette, Sella Group and the glacier of the Marmolata lie at your feet.
This popular retreat in the Fassa Dolomites is located at an altitude of over 2,300 metres, right on the famous Friedrich August path no. 557. From June to September, you will be spoiled by the hut keepers with delicious Ladin dishes: polenta, sausage, mushrooms, sauerkraut, alpine cheese, dumplings and venison goulash are on the menu.
You can reach the Sandro Pertini Hut by a pleasant route from the top station of the Col Rodella cable car in just 40 minutes or in 75 minutes from the Sella Pass. From here you can continue on to circumnavigate the imposing Sassolungo, to the Sassopiatto Hut, to the Alpe di Siusi, to the Schuster via ferrata or to the Grohmannspitze - the possibilities are so varied!
At the Rifugio Sandro Pertini you will find a mattress camp with 14 sleeping places and two showers. Don't forget your hut sleeping bag and to book in advance! If you stay overnight at the hut, a three-course dinner and breakfast the next day are included.
