Inmitten der wunderschönen Bergkulisse der Allgäuer Alpen liegt auf 1846 m das Prinz-Luitpold-Haus. Es ist eine Schutzhütte des deutschen Alpenvereins und gehört der Sektion Allgäu-Immenstadt. Im Jahr 1880 erbaut ist die Hütte eine der ältesten DAV Hütten in den Allgäuer Alpen.

Das Prinz-Luitpold-Haus verfügt über ca. 160 Schlafplätze, davon 48 Betten. Reservierungen können über das DAV Reservierungssystem getätigt werden.

Im Winter (Okt-Anf. Juni) steht der Winterraum (16 Schlafplätze) zur Selbstversorgung zur Verfügung. Es steht Brennholz sowie Gas für den Gasherd zur Verfügung. Wasser aus dem Zulauf des Sees oder Schnee schmelzen. Bezahlt wird vor Ort in bar oder per Überweisung.

Hallo Annette, der Aufstieg von Hinterhornbach über den Bäumenheimer Weg ist bereits seit 2022 gesperrt (Bäumenheimer Weg gesperrt). Alternativ kannst du über den Fuchsensattel und die Balkenscharte aufs Prinz-Luitpold-Haus gehen.

Hallo Daniela, aktuell sind die meisten Touren zwischen 600-1500m schneefrei. Die alpinen Bereiche über 1800m sind größtenteils noch nicht begehbar. Im Hochgebirge ab 1800m, vor allem nordseitig, liegt viel Schnee. Von Bergtouren oberhalb 1800m wird daher dringend abgeraten. Es sind im Hochgebirge schlechte Bedingungen, meist noch durchgehende Schneedecke. Unterhalb 1800m liegen einzelne Altschneefelder. Durch den Schnee sind die Wegemarkierungen nicht sichtbar, zudem besteht in den Schneefeldern, besonders an steilen Stellen, Abrutsch- und Absturzgefahr! Dies gilt für alle Wander- und Höhenwege, sowie Klettersteige in den Allgäuer Alpen.
