The "Hearndl", Kohlgrub's landmark mountain with its three distinctive peaks, is the observation platform for the Ammergauer Alps! The lakes spread out at its foot. The foothills of the alps present themselves like a child's toy scenery.
On a clear day, in the West the river Lech is can be seen and the Wieskirch church cheekily peeks out of the surrounding woods. Starnberg Lake and Lake Staffelsee glisten in the vale and Munich can just be glimpsed in the distance.
And into the bargain, a mountain hut, a wonderful terrace and a cheeky little jay begging for bread crumbs, of course.
If you simply cannot wait to see all of this for yourself, you can take the Hoernle cable car to the top
