Hike via the forest road to the Rear Hörnle. Then continue to the Hörnle hut and return to Bad Kohlgrub via the ski slope.

At the entrance to the Ammergau Alps Nature Park lies the Hörnle, the local mountain of Bad Kohlgrub. It consists of three peaks: Front Hörnle (1484 m), Middle Hörnle (1496 m), and Rear Hörnle (1548 m).

Tips and suggestions
Roadbook
The route begins at the parking lot near the Hörnle cable car and follows parallel to the lift road uphill. You will encounter a forest road and follow it in a southeast direction to the Ebmahd.
After about 2.5 km we turn right onto a hiking trail uphill in direction of the Rear Hörnle (do not hike over the Elmauberg, this path is closed!).
Via the Middle and Front Hörnle you reach the mountain station of the Hörnle cable car and the Hörnle hut. The return route goes via the family ski slope towards Sonnen. From Sonnen you walk at the foot of the Hörnle back to the starting point at the Hörnle cable car.
