The 10 most beautiful hikes in Plansee
How long does it take to hike around the Plansee?
The Plansee can be wonderfully circumnavigated on easy hiking trails. There are different variants for a hike around the lake. You can hike around the Plansee alone or also include the Kleiner Plansee. For those who are in very good shape, it is possible to hike around the Heiterwanger See lake as well. The hike around the Plansee is 14 km long and should take about 4 to 5 hours.
- Variant Plansee (14 km): The classic hike around the Plansee starts at the Seespitz campsite and runs first along the north shore and then along the south shore.
- Variant Plansee with Heiterwanger See (20 km): This variant also includes the neighbouring Heiterwanger See in the hike. The hike can also be shortened with a scheduled boat trip.
More hikes around the Plansee
The almost 3 km² large lake not only offers beautiful hikes along its shore. On the way from Reutte to Plansee, the Stuibenfällen are a highlight that should not be missed. The impressive waterfalls can be explored via the Ministersteig. The hike can be started from the Plansee or reached from Reutte via a picturesque valley.
Lake Heiterwanger can also be included in a hike. The neighbouring lake is somewhat smaller than the Plansee, but offers equally great paths along the shore and, of course, many a fantastic place to swim. You can set off on this hike from Heiterwang, the closest village, and make it as long as you like, depending on your mood.
Summit hikes around the Plansee
In addition to the hikes along the lake, there are also a number of summit destinations that offer themselves. The peaks of the Ammergau Alps around the lake are steep and not quite easy destinations, but the view from the top definitely makes up for all the exertion.
The hike over the three peaks Schelleleskopf, Hochjoch and Soldatenköpfle is a hot tip for all hikers in good shape. On the ridge with its great views, you experience the most beautiful views of the Plansee and the landscape, which is reminiscent of a fjord.
Tip: On the travel guide page „Bergtouren am Plansee“ you will find numerous other summit tours in the Reutte Nature Park region.
