Thanks to a short window of good weather, we decided late in the morning to climb the Weissmies. We took the cable car up to Hohsaas and then ascended over the Trift Glacier to the Weissmies. The descent was via the south ridge to the Zwischbergen Pass, Almageller Hut, and down to Saas-Almagell.

A rather easy yet very varied 4000-meter peak. On the ascent firn fields and a climbing ridge, and on the descent a glacier tour including passing through a serac field. From the summit, the view sweeps across the Monte Rosa Massif, the Mischabel group, the Fletschhorn, the Bernese Alps, and many other mountains.
