Varied crossing from the Almageller hut via the SSE ridge and descent over the Trift glacier to Hohsaas.
The Weissmies crossing is rightly a classic among the simpler 4000 m peaks. Those seeking solitude are in the wrong place here, but this does not detract from the beauty of the route. While the ascent via the SSE ridge mainly consists of easy rock scrambling, the descent over the WNW flank is a pure glacier tour. Many people climb Weissmies from this side as a day tour. In recent years, there has been an increased risk of ice breaks on the normal route from Hohsaas. Although the Trift glacier is monitored, a certain risk remains.
